24hr Divas – To weave or not to weave

24hr Divas is a play that is coming to London’s Rich Mix on Friday 21 October 2011 at 7.30pm. Even though I am really busy I got my tickets today. It is written by new playwright P.D. Walker, and is set in a fictional 24 hour black hair salon in Knightsbridge, London.

When natural hair enthusiast Esther (codename Natural Nubian) infiltrates 24hr Divas, she’s set on a collision course with her American boss, unstoppable businesswoman Tonika. Then it’s up to wannabe WAG Grace and husband-hating Mellow to save Tonika’s wig and the salon from destruction.

P.D. Walker says “the production team and cast are very excited to bring our chick-flick, comedy drama, about the politics of Black women and their hair to audiences during Black History Month. We’d also like to thank Rich Mix for supporting us and other new and emerging artists through its excellent Snapshots Festival programme.”

Tickets are free – yes that’s right free, so be quick.

You can reserve them online (Rich Mix Website) in person or by calling the Rich Mix box office on 020 7613 7498.
