Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme

I got asked to trail a brand new shampoo and conditioner by Philip Kinglsey and was given the below as a description of the products.

MOISTURE EXTREME SHAMPOO provides a fine balance of cleansing performance and mildness. Designed to effectively clean the hair and remove all styling and conditioning products without stripping away natural oils. The formula contains a gentle detergent derived from Cocoa Butter to cleanse with a slight foaming action, whilst conditioning agents make hair manageable, easy to comb and leave the cuticle smooth.

MOISTURE EXTREME CONDITIONER contains a blend of moisturising ingredients to nourish and repair the hair. The formula contains 4 natural oils including Almond, Wheatgerm, Avocado and Babassu which work together to condition the hair from the cortex to the outer layer, injecting intense shine without weighing the hair down. Avocado Oil contains essential nutrients and proteins that promote nourishment, while Babassu Oil works as a humectant with antistatic
properties to leave hair soft and shiny.

THE MOISTURE EXTREME RANGE offers a daily solution for those who want to care for and enhance their natural hair. The duo is based on 55 years of Trichological expertise, the duo are a first within the Philip Kingsley range to explicitly address the processing, styling and grooming needs of extremely porous hair and/or tight curls. This hair type is most vulnerable to damage and demands extreme moisture during the cleansing and conditioning process. In line with the styling needs of this hair type, the products can also be used on chemically processed and synthetic hair as well as extensions.

Whew that was hard to type!! I hope I spelt them all correctly! My hair is healthy and grows quicker using natural only ingredients so sadly this was one product that I could not review.

A spokesperson from Philip Kingsley said
“Such a shame. They have had some amazing reviews but we understand that you would prefer to not review them on this occasion”.

Would you have tried them?

  1. I have loads to catch up on your blog! I love that you turned down the offer on principle. I actually like the ingredients in the product and I have tried the elasticizer. It was nothing special. I think PK is overpriced.

Herbal Essences, VO5 etc have the same ingredients and work just as well if not better.

  2. Amanda Wilkinson says:

No I wouldn’t try it. There are lots of things that I too avoid Angel. Some cause CANCER, why risk?

  3. i review these products a few weeks ago. i found them quite nice to use. i tried them inspite of the indediants (which aren’t great, but much better them what is in my lipstick!! i just discoverd). i appluad you for sticking to your guns tho. for those who do not mind chems this is a nice product epicially the shampoo! but if you can find natural products that work its always the best option. you blog is growing really nicely!and your content is great!
    thanks angel x

  4. It is good to see that there will be options at this price point. Like you Angel I am delighted at how my hair is growing with careful use of natural products and so while I am interested to see what’s out there and did indeed enjoy reading natural-belle’s post, I am happy with where I am at now with the natural products – I even read the labels in Holland and Barrett carefully!. best, tricia

  5. @JC – glad you stopped by. Yes they were pretty expensive.

@ Amanda – yes some could cause cancer

@ natural-belle, delighted to see you and I hope you are well happy you are enjoying the blog

@Tricia – Yeah I started reading the labels more of everything, it’s good to be aware.
